I bought a $160,000 Audi S8 for $9,500 because the dealer said it needed a new engine. On paper this thing is an absolute monster a twin-turbo V8, a 48-volt hybrid system, all-wheel drive, and basically every piece of technology Audi could cram into a sedan. But when the dealer told the previous owner the engine was toast, the repair quote was so high the car was practically written off. So naturally I bought it to find out if the engine is actually blown, or if this complicated hybrid Audi just scared everyone away from fixing something simple.
