Electric car v sales rep / high mileage driver. Diesel takes LONGER, costs MORE, higher BIK tax Why?

A lot of higher mileage drivers, perhaps such as sales reps, site inspectors, regionals managers and such like often ask me if an electric car can REALLY work for them.

In this video I take you on a vlog day to show you an example. In fact electric can take LESS time, costs less and if you have a company car the savings you can make from lower BiK (Benefit in kind) tax can be incredible.

There may be some exceptional use case scenarios but hopefully you can see from this example a whole day in a car with a couple of site visits included is actually exceptionally easy.

If I had a BMW 320d, 330e, Audi a4 tdi, Vw passat, Ford Mondeo, Mercedes C class and any other such combustion ICE car it would have taken me longer (the time it takes to fill up!) and at much more expense.

Commonly we see media these days saying electric cars cost more than petrol or diesel but despite higher electric prices right now this simply isn’t the case!

I use a Tesla Model 3 Long Range in this example. Not only can it do 0-60 in under 4 seconds, has 4 wheel drive and loaded with incredible technology, it’s also a car that can save a company and the driver a lot of money compared to combustion. The Tesla supercharger network is very easy of course making them one of the best EVs for high mileage drivers.

So I’d like to see genuine cases where electric really cannot work for someone, even if they travel a lot. If you can’t charge at home? Well that does change the situation but for most the switch to electric really shouldn’t be a problem so let’s not keep hearing the same old excuses. It’s the right thing to do!

Thanks for watching!
