Joan and I escape the heat in a quick EV run to Duluth, MN for the day. The temps next to Lake Superior were lower than expected but we still had a fun time, met friends, and didn’t add any time to our trip by driving our Tesla Model Y.
This video highlights the charging, time, and costs, so I can share that data with you, but each stop was a bathroom stop we needed anyway. I didn’t take extra time that we wouldn’t have needed anyway at each stop. The fact that we could plug in was a bonus and kept us from needing a longer, dedicated charge breaking up our day. We did pass several fast chargers along the way that we were able to skip. A modern EV with good charging infrastructure makes trips as convenient as gas travel at, in this case, about half the cost.
