Will Trialling Wreck our Modified New car? Lands End Trial Finale // Part 3. In this full length episode Jonny Smith and Sion Ellis from Auto Max https://www.automax-wales.com/ take their new Kia ‘Cant’ Picanto 1.0 turbo GT Line on the 100th Landsend Trial. This may be the most cost effective motorsport left, but it’s definitely not the mildest.

The trial was designed over 100 years ago to prove the robustness and reliability of new motorcycles. Then cars started entering. 2024 marked the 100th running event, so Jonny wanted to see if a new car could handle the punishment, but also the fact it requires staying up for over 24-hours…
Thanks to Worx tools https://uk.worx.com/ for supporting this episode with their cordless DIY and garage products. In this video we used the 4-in-1 20v compressor unit https://uk.worx.com/high-pressure-inflator-4-in-1-tool-20v-tool-only-wx092-9/
Thanks to Sion Ellis at Auto Max in Dolgellau Wales for prepping the car, and generally being an utter gentleman https://www.automax-wales.com/
Huge thanks must also go to the Motor Cycling Club (MCC) – https://www.themotorcyclingclub.org.uk/ – who encouraged us to try and conquer the trial in a new car, and try to capture it in such inhospitable rural parts of the world (at night!).
We have used several video clip(s) of Jonny trialling in an episode of Fifth Gear. After careful research into the legalities surrounding ‘Fair Use’, knowing that we have used the clip(s) in a factual, reportage way to validate the discussion point made by the person(s) involved in the original footage. We have used as short a clips as possible to validate said point. We have also used the clips in the confidence that it will act in a positive transformative way to the original clips; with that in mind, please check out the official Fifth Gear YouTube channel – https://www.youtube.com/fifthgear – and please support them as you are supporting us. Many thanks.
