2020 Chevy Bolt EV: Check in at 33,000 miles + Q2/Q3 '22 Recall Update

This catch-up on the Chevy Bolt EV recall takes a slightly different approach, as our 2020 Bolt ticked past 33,000 miles at the time of recording. Rather than linger only on the gray cloud of the recall, we start with the many silver linings of an electric car we’ve enjoyed for almost six years now, across both a 2017 and 2020 Premier.

We also compile progress across the two distinct population sets (2017-’19 and 2020-’22) via GM’s Q2 and Q3 2022 reports to NHTSA*, set an expectation for full recall completion, and update on where our 2020 Bolt is headed next.

Chapters:
0:00 – Start
0:13 – Intro
0:41 – Why we still love the Bolt
6:15 – Update on Q2/Q3 2022 Bolt EV recall progress
11:21 – Over to you…

Also congrats to Eric at @News Coulomb, who got the pack on his 2017 replaced last week! Check out his first update on the process here – https://youtu.be/iSrqSTBIcU4 – and watch for the key tests he’ll be running in the weeks ahead.

The recall has been rumbling on for over a year now, so links to the reports and our previous updates are below if you’re new to the channel and need some context.
